Real Country by Nikki in Nashville
In March of 2023, I posted a 7-second TikTok video that changed the course of how I look at content. Especially my own. See I never planned on being any sort of creator but always grew up loving country music, and developed certain ‘opinions’ about the current state of it today.
I believe that as all genre sounds evolve, country somehow turned into something else altogether. and whilst there are amazing artists on the radio - it’s the ones not represented on radio, or in a lot of mainstream publications for that matter, that I share about most here.
After that Tiktok video reached over 1mil views, I realized there was a community of people who felt the same. Hence, Nikki in Nashville was born. (not really I’m actually quite old but, you know what I mean)
This publication and all of my content channels exist to bridge the gap between mainstream country and the ‘left of center crowd’ keeping the more traditional sound alive - Americana, Texas Country, Honky Tonk…you name it. Not the stuff with snap tracks and trap beats.
